Independent Chairman
One of three independent board members, Graeme is also Chairman of the Board at Harbour. Graeme founded and was Executive Chairman of Southern Capital Ltd, which became Hirequip NZ Ltd. He has extensive directorship experience, including at New Zealand Farming Systems Uruguay Limited, Sealord Group Limited, Tasman Agriculture Limited, Magnum Corporation Limited, Work Insurance, and alternate director at Air New Zealand. He is a current Director of Tourism Holdings Limited, Areograph Limited, Precinct Properties New Zealand Limited and shareholder and Director of Southern Capital Partners (NZ) Limited. Furthermore, he is a member of the Trust Board of Samuel Marsden Collegiate School and Member of the Management Board of The Bible Society Development (New Zealand) Incorporated.
Bill Trotter
Director (also Executive Chairman, Jarden)
Bill is a director of Harbour Asset Management. Bill is also Chairman of Jarden (formerly called First NZ Capital), appointed in 2002. He was previously Chief Executive of the firm and a Managing Director of Credit Suisse First Boston. Bill has a wide range of experience in capital markets and corporate transactions. Bill has a shareholding in Harbour's ultimate holding company, Jarden Group Limited.
Linda Jenkinson
Independent Director
Linda, the first New Zealand woman to list a company on the NASDAQ stock exchange, co-founded DMSC, a $250 million on-demand courier company which disrupted the courier on-demand business segment. She also co-founded John Paul (formerly LesConcierges), a global customer and employee experience platform which she sold to Accor Hotel Group and WOW for Africa, an organisation that provided investment and business advisory services to support and promote female entrepreneurship in Senegal.
Linda currently serves on the boards of Eclipx Group, the Guild Group, Jaxta Music, Flint Wealth, and UNICEF Aotearoa. She was named EY Master Entrepreneur of the Year NZ in 2013, World Class New Zealander in 2016, and has been recognised at the Women of Influence awards in San Francisco and New Zealand.
Linda was previously a Partner with A.T. Kearney, specialising in financial institutions and strategic sourcing. She holds an MBA in Finance from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and a B.B.S in Accounting & Finance and Data Processing from Massey University.
Murray Brown
Independent Director, Chair of Audit Committee
Murray Brown became an independent Director of Harbour in 2020, and Chair of Harbour’s Audit and Risk Committee. Murray has over 30 years of experience in investment markets, both as a research analyst and a portfolio manager. He was a Senior Portfolio Manager at Fisher Funds until 2016 looking after Kingfish, property & infrastructure, and local equities. Previous to Fisher Funds, Murray was Director, Research at First NZ Capital.

Murray is also on the Board of the Government Superannuation Fund Authority and Yachting New Zealand. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce & Administration from Victoria University of Wellington. He is also a Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors (CMInstD).

Malcolm is a Director of Harbour. Malcolm is currently CEO, Wealth and Asset Management for Jarden Group Limited. Malcolm is also a Director of Jarden Group Limited and a number of its subsidiaries. With more than 20 years of experience in the financial sector, Malcolm has previously held roles as Managing Director with both Blackstone in London and Singapore, as well as with TPG Capital in Melbourne.

Richard Young
Independent Director
Richard has over 30 years’ experience in the banking and securities industry in New Zealand and overseas. Of this, over 27 years were with Jarden until his retirement in March 2022. He is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. Richard has a shareholding in Harbour's ultimate holding company, Jarden Group Limited.
Ruari McGregor
Secretary to the Board (and COO)
Ruari joined Harbour in 2017 after nine years at Trustees Executors in various management roles, including Senior Client Relationship Manager and Business Projects & Change Manager. Ruari’s expertise lies in the operational details of funds management, and his main duties at Harbour include leading our operational and technological systems, managing legal and regulatory requirements, as well as contributing to organisational strategy, and long-term goals. Prior to his work at Trustees, Ruari held roles at State Street Bank & Trust Co, and Deustche Bank in London and Edinburgh. He has over 15 years’ experience, and holds a BA Honours Degree in Financial Services.

Furthermore, Craig has previously worked for the Bank of New Zealand, Chase Global Investor Services (London) and the Bank of Ireland in roles responsible for monitoring and controlling daily cash activity and the management of support staff for Foreign Exchange Trading Desks. Craig has a BCA from Victoria University of Wellington and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) charterholder.
Kevin Bennett
Director, Head of Research
Kevin is the Head of Research, providing equity research and ratings on the telco, industrials, healthcare, media, transport and technology sectors. Prior to joining Harbour Asset Management, Kevin was employed by AllianceBernstein New Zealand as a Research Analyst in Australasian Equities. In this role Kevin was responsible for equities research with an emphasis on telco's, media, transport, forestry, healthcare and cyclical stocks. Kevin was previously a Director and Head of Telecommunications Research (Australasia) at Deutsche Bank. Kevin has over 34 years of investment management experience with such companies as AMP Society, Doyle Paterson Brown, Fay Richwhite and Bankers Trust New Zealand. Kevin has a BMS (Hons) from the University of Waikato.

Susanna has primary responsibility for the equity team's quantitative research programme, where she develops and implements innovative, data-driven strategies that underlie Harbour's equity investment process. With over a decade of experience at Harbour, she managed a New Zealand equity portfolio from 2014 to 2021. Her other prior roles include managing the equity team’s currency strategy, managing the trading desk and company research. Her career began in 2008 as an Analyst at AXA Global Investors, followed by a tenure at AMP Capital. Susanna holds a Bachelor of Business Studies with Honours in Finance from Massey University and was recognised with the Dean's List Award for academic excellence.
Shane Solly, CFA
Director, Portfolio Manager
Shane is portfolio manager for the Harbour Equity Focus Fund and the Harbour Real Estate Fund and supports the management of Harbour’s other equity mandates. He is responsible for equity research and ratings on the aged care and retirement, airline and leisure, infrastructure and real estate sectors across the New Zealand and Australian equity markets. Shane has more than 30 years of managing portfolios for investors at ANZ, Citibank, Goldman Sachs, ING and Mint, and has previously managed funds that have won numerous industry awards. Shane is a CFA® charterholder and holds a Bachelor of Business in Finance from Massey University, where he graduated as a Dean’s list scholar. He is a member of the board of the CFA Society in New Zealand.
Øyvinn Rimer
Director, Senior Research Analyst
Øyvinn is responsible for equity research and ratings on the agriculture, resources, food & beverages, retail, and oil & gas sectors. Øyvinn also helps in portfolio and risk management of the Harbour Long Short Fund. Furthermore, he provides macroeconomic input to the wider Harbour team on the Chinese economy, which he covers through regular research trips to China. He also supports the Harbour team in portfolio risk management. Prior to joining Harbour Asset Management, Oyvinn was employed by AllianceBernstein New Zealand for 2 years as Assistant Research Analyst. Øyvinn holds his Master of Commerce from the University of Canterbury with first-class Honours in Finance and is a Financial Adviser.

Jorge  Waayman
ESG Manager
As the Manager, ESG Research at Harbour, Jorge is primarily responsible for Harbour’s ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) programme including research and implementation. Harbour’s primary ESG tool, the annual Corporate Behaviour Survey, is overseen by Jorge in conjunction with Kevin Bennett. Jorge began at Harbour as an intern in 2016. He completed his first class BCom (Hons) degree in Finance at Victoria University Wellington prior to joining Harbour.
Nicholas  Simmons
Research Analyst
Nick joined our team full time in March 2022 as an analyst. He is mainly responsible for providing assistance in financial modelling, industry research and data projects for the equity team. Previously Nick had completed an internship with Harbour, providing support to Harbour’s whole investment team while finishing up his university studies. Nick currently holds an MCom from the University of Auckland.
Jordan Mueller
Investment Analyst
Jordan joined the Harbour team as Operations Analyst in April 2022 where he provided investment operations and administrative support to the Equities and Fixed Income Teams, before transitioning to an Investment Analyst role in our Equities Team. Before joining Harbour, Jordan worked with the client services team at Booster providing support to their KiwiSaver, Super and Investment advisers and clients. Jordan has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Hons) majoring in Finance and Economics from Victoria University of Wellington.

Mark joined Harbour in 2011 and has over 30 years of experience working in fixed income markets in New Zealand and offshore. He leads the fixed income team at Harbour and is the portfolio manager of the Harbour NZ Core Fixed Interest Fund and the Harbour Income Fund. As a portfolio manager, Mark is primarily involved in investment strategy and risk management, being ultimately responsible for the investment performance of the firm’s longer-maturity bond funds. Mark has experience across the disciplines of credit analysis, economics and quantitative analysis. As active managers, Mark and his team have a proven track record, most notably adding value during the GFC and COVID affected years when volatility was high. Mark has a BCA from Victoria University of Wellington and a MBA in finance from the University of Rochester, NY.

Simon is a Senior Credit Analyst in the fixed income team, where his chief responsibility is credit analysis of issuers within the fixed interest and income funds. Simon previously chaired our Asset Allocation Committee and managed relationships with iwi. Prior to joining Harbour, Simon was a research analyst at Investment Solutions UK in London where he managed a multi-manager global equity portfolio. He started his investment career at AXA Global Investors in Wellington, where his primary role was to select and monitor investment managers across all asset classes. Simon holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in Economics from the University of Otago, where he was awarded the William Emery Scholarship. He is a CFA® charterholder.

George is portfolio manager of Harbour’s Enhanced Cash and NZ Corporate Bonds Funds, and short duration mandates. Prior to joining Harbour in 2018, George spent 11 years in London at Royal London Asset Management (RLAM), progressing from trainee to Global Bond Fund Manager where he successfully led the firm’s offering in developed bond markets. Responsible for a variety of institutional and retail products, he also launched the RLAM International Bond Fund and RLAM Global Inflation Linked Fund. George began his career in Sydney with Ibbotson Consultants (now Morningstar) supporting senior consultants in advising institutional pension funds. George holds a Master of Business Studies (Finance) from the University of Otago and the CFA® designation.

Hamish joined Harbour in July 2019. He has specific responsibilities for macro-economic research, fixed interest and currency strategy. His research is reflected in investment decision making across the Harbour investment team, in particular relating to fixed income and currency. Before joining Harbour, Hamish worked as an FX and EM Macro Strategist for Barclays Investment Bank for 8 years in Singapore and London. He was most recently Head of FX & Emerging Markets Macro Strategy Research for Asia, based out of their Singapore office. Hamish was previously a Senior Analyst in the Financial Markets Research team at the Reserve Bank of NZ, responsible for presenting financial market analysis to RBNZ policymakers. Jenny joined in 2020 as a Fixed Interest Analyst within Harbour’s Fixed Income team. She is charged with developing a broad range of quantitative analytical tools that will deepen the research and risk management capabilities that apply within fixed interest portfolios and the Harbour Income Fund. She also works on incorporating big data analytics to help identify sources of information not readily available from traditional data sources. Prior to joining Harbour, Jenny was a bank regulator at the Chinese Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission, and a lecturer in investments at Lincoln University. Jenny has a PhD in Finance from Lincoln University, her research topic was bank efficiency and bank regulation in Asia Pacific region.

Chris is the Head of Multi Asset and Global Investments at Harbour. In this role he is responsible for managing multi-asset portfolios for large institutional investors and the Harbour Active Growth Fund, utilising Harbour’s own strategies as well as external strategies from around the world. Chris built and launched NZ’s first diversified multi-sector Impact Fund, targeting investments that provide financial return as well as helping meet UN Sustainable Development Goals. Chris joined Harbour from Mercer, where he was most recently a Portfolio Manager, responsible for growth assets within Mercer’s fund suite in New Zealand. Chris has a strong track record in investment manager research, dynamic asset allocation, and structuring investment portfolios for some of New Zealand’s largest institutional investors. Chris has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Victoria University, Wellington, and has obtained the CFA® designation.
Lewis Fowler, CFA
Senior Investment Analyst
Lewis joined Harbour in 2021 as an investment analyst, contributing towards our growing multi-asset business. His work covers a range of areas including asset allocation, external manager research, modelling, and portfolio management support. Lewis emigrated to New Zealand from the UK, where he gained 8 years’ investment experience through roles at Aon Hewitt, Deutsche Bank, and most recently at BlackRock Investment Management where he was responsible for manager research across the Alternatives spectrum for BlackRock's OCIO business. He holds the CFA® designation, and has a BSc Masters MORSE (Mathematics, Operational Research, Statistics and Economics) from the University of Warwick.
Tony Hildyard
Senior Portfolio Specialist
Tony Hildyard is Senior Portfolio Specialist at Harbour and oversees the Hunter Global Fixed Interest Fund. He has responsibility for providing investment advisory services to the Fund, as well as promoting the Hunter Investment Funds scheme and managing client relationships. Tony is one of New Zealand’s most experienced investment professionals, reflecting the work he has done in the past with PIMCO, and as CEO of Tower Asset Management. Tony Hildyard joined Harbour Asset Management in October 2021. Immediately prior to joining Harbour, Tony was Managing Director of Hunter Investment Management Limited and has had broad fund management experience. During his 20 years with Tower Asset Management Limited, the last 3 years as CEO of Tower’s investment businesses, Tony developed specialist investment skills having had portfolio management roles in both domestic and global fixed interest, currency management and New Zealand commercial property as well as more general asset allocation total portfolio oversight. Tony then spent 7 years working for the US based Global Bond Firm, PIMCO where he was their sole representative in New Zealand.

Director, Client Relations Manager
Anne-Marie heads up Harbour’s Client Relations Team and has a proven track record of building strong client relationships and enhancing client satisfaction by providing first class support and services throughout a client’s journey with Harbour. Anne-Marie has led various initiatives within Harbour across the breadth of many divisions, including 8 years as Harbour’s Product Manager, which involved helping to set up our compliance and governance structure under the FMCA regime. Prior to taking time off to raise a family, Anne-Marie was employed at AllianceBernstein as a Client Relations Associate, where she provided client reporting and servicing for the institutional client base. Anne-Marie began her career with the Bank of New Zealand before travelling to the UK where she worked for JP Morgan Chase in Custody. She holds a Bachelor of Science and a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration from Massey University.

Laura joined Harbour as a Client Services Associate in October 2023 after returning to New Zealand from overseas travel. Ainsley’s core role at Harbour is leading our client and communications team, and developing investment solutions to suit client needs. She joined the team in 2017, having previously gained over 25 years’ of extensive investment management experience in number of senior roles, including Executive director and Head of Investment Management at First State Investments (NZ), and Head of Investment Management for ASB Group Investments. Notably, during her time at ASB Group, Ainsley designed and launched the ASB default KiwiSaver scheme, and had no fund suspensions or capital loss during the 2008 financial crisis. Ainsley holds a B.Com in Economics, and previously served on the Boards of the Financial Markets Authority, the Government Superannuation Fund Authority and Hohepa Auckland Regional Board.
Sophie Parlane

Sophie joined the Harbour team in 2016 to drive projects in marketing and communications, including digital and events management. She handles PR, branding and advertising, and Harbour publications and research. Prior to joining Harbour, Sophie was a Project Coordinator at Young Enterprise Trust with experience in content creation, digital communications, and event management. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from VUW in Political Science and Social Policy (with a minor in Media Studies) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Business (Communications) from Massey University.

Prior to joining the team, Tim was the Head of Compliance and Risk at Nikko Asset Management and prior to that OM Financial. He also established the Boutique Investment Group (BIG) which represents the interests of Managed Investment Scheme participants. Vishwesh joined Harbour in May 2022 as a compliance analyst to support the risk and compliance framework across the business. This includes working with the investment teams to ensure that legal and regulatory requirements are met, including compliance with the AML/CFT framework. Prior to joining the team, Vishwesh worked at Strategi Compliance and the Bank of India in New Zealand and he is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist. Vishwesh has a B.Com (Accounts & Finance), Master of Management (Finance) Studies from the University of Mumbai and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business from Auckland University of Technology.

Dinesh started his IT career in New Zealand as a Technical Support specialist at Concentrix before being promoted as a Senior Technical Support Specialist. He also contracted as a Service Desk Analyst with Spark before joining Harbour in early 2023. Dinesh has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a Graduate Diploma in Management from NMIT.

Cheryll focuses on managing the provision of investment operations and administration support for the equity and fixed income teams. Cheryll has over seven years’ experience with global custodial banks covering fund management, investment and treasury operations, risk management and project management. Cheryll will be working with the team in Harbour’s Wellington office. Prior to joining Harbour, Cheryll was with JP. Morgan Chase for two years, with a focus on cash forecasting, pooling and management, FX modelling and reconciliations. Cheryll also implemented risk control polices and process improvements across the business. In this role Cheryll was responsible for JP Morgan global clients. Prior to JP Morgan, Cheryll worked at UnionBank of the Philippines managing a team responsible for the settlement, accounting and reporting of money market, fixed income, equity and foreign exchange activities for trust and asset management clients. Cheryll has a Masters of Applied Mathematics in Finance.

Her duties include ensuring smooth running of day to day office processes for both our Wellington and Auckland offices, helping staff with general administration and organising the Managing Director’s calendar. Prior to joining Harbour, Anna worked as an EA for an Urban Development Company in Russia, an Office Coordinator for a co-working space, and is a veteran of the fashion industry working as a model, stylist and assistant all over the world. She holds a Bachelor’s degree majoring in Economics from Southern Federal University.
